What happens to sterling silver jewelry if it gets wet?
I have two sterling silver rings and a Pandora bracelet. Will they tarnish if I get them wet?
Nothing will happen to your sterling silver jewellery if it gets wet, but I would recommend you dry it with a soft cloth and store it in a cool, shaded area (box) when you are not wearing it to prevent tarnish.
Water generally does not hurt precious metal, but it will increase the likelyhood of tarnish over time, and it’s recommended that you remove your jewellery before you wash your hands. Also do not wear it while swimming in chlorine or salty water, as the salt and chlorine IS damaging and it will slowly eat away at the metal.
If you do get tarnish, simply dab some fluorite toothpaste and rub it in with some water. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry, and your jewellery should shine like new.
Hope this helps!
its not 100% i dentified but its happened so dont get it wet

Silver is prone to two main damages:
* The metal has low density and this makes it more prone to scratches. Silver ornaments get distorted when worn carelessly.
* Silver ages with time. This means, the metal tarnishes with time by reacting with sulphur present in air and water.
