Can my cheap jewelry be plated with sterling silver?

I have a few pieces of cheap jewelry that I bought at places like Claire’s and H&M that are made out of nickel or copper but were coated with some kind of silver coating. This coating is now coming off, turning bluish, irritating my skin and smelling pretty bad. But, these are my favorite pieces of jewelry and I’d like to continue wearing them. Can I take them to a jewelry store and have them plated with sterling silver? How much would that cost?

sure, you can. Silver plated or gold plated are the common method to keep the not-so precious jewelry shiny and attractive. You can have it plated again at the cost of around $20; it usually takes 1-3 days

it can be silver/gold/platinum plated. you have to send it to a jeweler and ask them to do it for you.

they have to polish the pc and plated with silver/gold/platinum as you wish.

i think the cost of doing this will cost almost buy a new one! because the raw materials is very cheap!
