How pure must a silver bullet be to kill a werewolf?
Posted on April 10th, 2010 by admin
Sterling silver is usually 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, is it enough to kill a werewolf or must it be pure silver? (Considering that pure silver would make the bullet ridiculously soft.) Could silver that doesn’t meet the Sterling label also do?
Republican werewolves are sort of stupid - and you can just shoot them with a regular bullet and tell them it’s silver.

Well, considering werewolves do not exist, it’s all up to your imagination.

Traditional werewolf fiction has never really detailed how "pure" the silver bullets must be. I think that’s always been left to artistic license. Same with folklore. Did you know that werewolves weren’t always considered weak against silver? For example, the first werewolf "claims" that included a silver bullet weakness was the "Beast of GĂ©vaudan" incidents in the late 1700s.
A man named Jean Chastel assumed that a bullet would have to be very hard, and blessed to kill one of the beasts that were plaguing the French village of Gevaudan. Thus, he fabricated silver bullets from melted-down silverware, and engraved each bullet with "JMJ" which stands for the Holy family. (Jesus, Mary, Joseph)
These bullets probably weren’t even close to the refinement of today’s silver. Also, the beast was never, of course, proven to be a true "used to be a dude, turns into a wolf sometimes" werewolf. Most accounts suggest that the attacks at Gevaudan were the work of a very large wolf; cryptozoologists believe the "beast" could have been a late surviving Mesonychid.
However, if you’re talking about a "werewolf" in today’s society, any old bullet will do. There are no werewolves, and anyone who says they are one of these fictional creatures will die from any host of gunshot wounds by any kind of projectile.

Depends on how fast you want them to die. The purer the better. Since it’s the material that’s doing the damage, I figure it must be some kind of poisoning. And silver shot from a shotgun ought to work better than a bullet, because it has more surface area and more of it stays in the wound than with a bullet. Also, it’s easier to load your own with shotgun shells. It’s not like you can buy silver bullets (or shells) at the local sporting goods store.
Just remember Coors Light isn’t really made of silver, and many silver tableware sets have knives with silver handles and steel blades. Werewolves can’t be hurt with steel.

There are no such thing as werewolves.
It is all pretend.
I think you let fantasy take you over.

It doesn’t have to be silver to kill a werewolf. Why would you want to kill one in the first place?
If they’re causing problems than I understand. But if you are doing this for fun than you need to stop.
