I have a necklace that is silver coloured and even has the 925 stamp but I’m still not sure that it’s real silver. Is there any tests I can do at home with out getting it appraised?
Yell "Hi ho, silver, away!" and if it stays there, it’s not silver.

If it has the stamp, it is, and if you haven’t worn it for awhile, it should be tarnishing.

not really. the stamp is a way of authenticating it though

Does it tarnish? Get a yellow tint? If so than that is a sign. Another would be if it is soft (easy to bend)

.925 is the stamp of real silver.

Dip it in bleach and if it turns black it is silver. you can polish it back.

If an item has a 925 stamp on it, it means it’s sterling silver. I’ve never seen a non-silver item with this brand. Go and buy a silver polishing cloth and rub the jewelry with it and if the cloth has black marks from the tarnishing than it’s probably safe to say it’s real silver. The only way I know to "test" for silver is a process which actually involves a chemical reaction which will dissolve your necklace
