What are these scalar energy pendants?

My mom came home from vacation with this scalar energy pendant and she says it helps with her arthritic had which she can now fully close that she couldn’t before.
I’ve not been able to find much on the internet apart from the fact that they are mostly made of volcanic rock. Anyone know how these things work how they affect the body?
Also, are they the same as those negative ion pendants?
The reason you can’t find out much about it is that it’s not a real medical device.
It’s a placebo. Just like the magnetic wrist bands they used to sell. I hope your mom didn’t spend much on it. It sounds like she’s convinced herself that it relieves some pain, so by the placebo effect it might actually be doing so, but strictly speaking it’s your mom’s mind that’s doing the pain relieving. The pendant could be anything. It could be a chocolate chip cookie on a string, so long as she believed in it.
