For Christmas I got my girlfriend a diamond necklace in the shape of a Treble Clef (She sings so I thought she’d like something music related). For her birthday I wanted to get her a bracelet or earrings to match the necklace, I can’t find it anywhere and I really want to find it. She means a lot to me and I don’t wanna get her some piece of crap.

I am going to make a friendship bracelet with 24 strings. Each string is used for the same amount of knots. How long should each string be?
For most of my bracelets, I use 44" (about 1.25yds) for each strand. The only time I add more is if I need an extra-long bracelet, or one color is used significantly more than others. I recently made a 24-strand bracelet and used my usual 44" and it came out fine - about 5.5" of knotting, which fits my wrist well. I probably could have gotten another 1/2" of knotting if I’d needed it.

I bought a really cheap bracelet and the black color rubbed off onto my arm. How can I stop it from doing that?
try using clear nail polish over the bracelet.

I have 4 half inch long beads, enough hemp for anything, and then a metal circle that has a little circle to tie hemp through, and a metal stick with a little circle on it to tie hemp through. The stick will go through the circle to secure it on my wrist. My wrist is about 6 and a half inches around. I just want to make a simple square knot bracelet. Can anyone tell me how to do one with these supplies? Thanks!
I think, basically, you’d take a length of hemp that’s longer than you think you’ll need, thread it through the first ring (you can start with either the stick end or the circle end), start tying, thread on the beads at appropriate intervals, and end up by tying the hemp to the other end piece.
But I’ve never made a hemp bracelet before, so that’s just a guess.
You can get an estimate of how much hemp you’ll need by measuring a length, tying it as you will for the bracelet, then measuring it again.

I want to make a bracelet using embroidering floss in a simple two color block pattern. I want there to be a block of each color repeating as it goes. But all the patterns online are for the more attractive or crazy looking styles, anyone know a pattern similar to what I’ve described?
Two colours, alternating pattern? Sounds to me like the checkerboard pattern… there is nothing else. Sometimes called basketweave as well.

So I’m going away on holiday soon, and I wanna get a pendant, like a chain with a cross on or a shark tooth kinda thing etc.. It’s gonna be warm so I’m gonna be topless most of the time and personally I think I look cooler with one than without.. So can someone suggest (preferably a female) what pendant would look good.
Thanks!
Personally, I think there are a few types of male necklaces that look good. I agree with your idea of a shark tooth pendant - it’s masculine and quite edgy, which is hot
also, I think just a simple gemstone on a string/chain looks really good too.
But, to be honest, if you want to wear a pendant, I think you should just choose whatever you like and something that suits you (not someone else you’re trying to be!)
Hope this helps

What are Japanese/Chinese good luck/protection pendants/necklaces for a guy to wear, I heard that bird cage necklaces are popular. What else? I seem to have difficulty finding out any others on google, thanks.
Generally speaking, Chinese good luck and protection pendants/necklaces have two kind.
One is related to the Chinese zodiac sign, the day you born determine your zodiac sign, choose the related pendants/necklaces would keep you safe and healthy.
The other is relate to Chinese god, like Buddha,a buddism godness Guanyin.
Also there are some Feng shui pendants/necklaces have the power to bring you love/ fortune/ wealthy/ business luck etc.
List a site that got Chinese unique stuff, pretty interesting to shop.

This question is for jewelry makers/experts. So if I wanted to make a pendant out of silver or gold, what kind of machine would be best? The things I have in mind are pendants that are shapes, and either outlines of the shapes or the solid shape. What kind of tools/machine would I need, and how do I go about making these pendants? Thank you in advance!!
Kind of a complicated question…easy to answer…not easy to accomplish…
To cut out a shape…most jewelers use "jeweler saws". There are many sites where you can purchase these. Here is a site I use… http://www.ottofrei.com/store/home.php?cat=1143
(Don’t forget to purchase saw blades too…size 0/2 is a good size to start with. Cuts 20-22 gauge metal) You will also need a lubricant such as beeswax for the blade.
You could also use a hydraulic press with a pancake die…or a hydraulic press with an embossing die and then cut out with a jewelers saw. Hydraulic presses can be very dangerous and you must take adequate precautions when using this expensive machine.
For thin gauge metal (20 gauge or thinner), you could use some metal shears…such as Joyce Chen brand.
There are also some websites where you can purchase sterling silver shapes that are already cut out…surf for "sterling silver blanks"
You could also use metal clay…there are video’s all over the web for this.
Also…I found this cool site years ago and I always refer people to it if they are just getting started.

Your best bet would be to either take a class at a local college or at least purchase a book or search the web for "how to" video’s.
Good Luck.
Remember…it’s a journey…not a destination!:-)

Does anyone know the quickest and best way to find decent suppliers in the Uk. I have trawled the internet for too long! Thanks.
Try calling round some wholesalers and see what they can do? 90% of the time they’ll be able to advice when their peak time is for getting the products in, if it’s best to buy damaged and repair yourself (this may take time, but can save you a lot of money), and the quantity. Just always consider the delivery charges as these can be costly, and also try eBay unless that’s where your planning to sell.
If I can be any more help just ask, I do run a business that can do research etc, I’ll see what discounts I can put your way.
Hope you find a solution.
