I noticed during playoffs games that the pitchers are wearing colorful chunky necklaces that look like they might be rope or chain. Does anyone know their significance? Why would they wear that?

   They are Titanium necklaces made by a company called Phiten, http://www.phitenusa.com.

   Phiten sells products coated with Aqua-Titanium. Phiten also sells the MLB Authentic necklaces, bracelets and discs which MLB players can wear during the games.
