You must fire the ring first as the heat would damage any quartz stone (the only stone I would fire in place is diamond as it can take the heat) and also, stones arn’t set by soldering! they are “set” by numerous methods involving pushing metal over a stone

I’m a jeweller from Australia and from what i know from my limited work with PMC is that the final product (in the most common PMC) is fine silver, so yes it can be annealed. Yes, interesting stuff but very much a hobby material not suitable for making fine quality jewellery
