How do i tell the difference between steel and titanium jewellery that look exactly the same?

I bought 2 pieces of the same type of eyebrow jewellery, one steel and one titanium - the titanium one was supposed to be a present for my friend and i can’t wear it as i have a had a bad reaction to titanium in the past.

Someone told me that titanium was lighter than steel but as they’re so small a kitchen scale doesn’t pick them up when i place them on.

How do i tell the two apart?!?!?! :( The only magnet i could find (a fridge magnet) didn’t work on either :S

use a magnet…pure titanium is not magnetic.

  1. Try using a magnet. Titanium isn’t magnetic.

In the second charlie’s angels movie– they pour champagne in the drawer of rings and the titanium rings float.
    You could try that :)
