does anyone know a good and reliable website to buy pentagram/ baphomet shirts, inverted cross pendants?

Posted on September 27th, 2009 by admin

pentagram pendants, mjolnir pendants and other metal wears. im embracing my inner metalhead and make it more open. i wear band tees all the time. i just need the more "offensive" stuff. also any chaos stars would be cool too.

Inverted crosses and pentagrams are so 90s… No one gets offended by that anymore…wear a swastika shirt or something more original…

Silly question…How do you get Jibbitz charms off of crocs once they have been put on?

Posted on September 25th, 2009 by admin

My daughter has a pair of sketchers that have Jibbitz (spelling?) charms on them. The gentleman at the shoe store put them on for her. Whenever my daughter wears these shoes, the charms give her blisters. How do I get these things off?

Ask the gentleman at the store.

Any good and reasonably priced jewelry making lessons in Singapore?

Posted on September 25th, 2009 by admin

I’m interested to learn about making jewelry. I’ve searched for some workshops online, but either it’s not really reliable or it’s very expensive. Any of you know of (beginner) lessons that are good and reasonably priced? Preferably if you have taken that particular lesson before so I can be ensured with the quality! (how helpful the teacher is, how clear is the explanation, bla bla bla) thank’s very much!

what?

Why do most of the professional runners such as the ones at the world champs wear necklaces?

Posted on September 25th, 2009 by admin

They look like they would be really annoying for the runners because they are jumping around on their necks. Also why are they all pretty much identical gold fine chain necklaces?

Good luck charm that maybe was passed down or a gift from someone special. Helps give them confidence and motivation, making them strive for the best

Is there any way to remove hardened acrylic water from sterling silver chain?

Posted on September 23rd, 2009 by admin

I have 20 feet of sterling silver chain that I accidentally exposed to acrylic water while making a floral arrangement. I didn’t realize it at the time, and now the chain is all crimped and curled. Is there anything I can soak this silver chain in to get rid of the acrylic water? 20 feet of sterling silver snake chain is not cheap these days, and really hate the thought of throwing that money away!

Electrolytic Cleaning Solution:

Ingredients:
¼ cup baking soda
¼ cup salt
¼ cup liquid dish soap
½ gallon of water
Equipment:
Large pot
Aluminum foil
Plastic spoon
Stove top
colander or strainer
towel
Take a large pot, such as a spaghetti pot, and completly line the inside with aluminum foil. Pour all of the ingredients into the pot and stir with your plastic spoon. Collect the sterling silver jewelry you want to clean, and count each item so you know the total number you put into the pot. Place them into the solution and spread them out on the bottom of the pot so they don’t touch each other. Bring this to a low boil for a few minutes. Then turn off the burner and let it sit for another couple of minutes. Then using the colander or strainer, pour out the solution. Rinse well with cold water making sure that all salt is rinsed off your silver. (Salt will eventually corrode metal.) Count your items as you place them on a towel to dry. Make sure you’ve accounted for all your jewelry before you throw away the aluminum. It will be dirty because the oxides on your jewelry were transferred to it. Your sterling silver jewelry should now look like new.
Super Cleaner
In an eight ounce container (pickle jars work well), combine one inch of cleaning detergent (Top Job or Mr. Clean), one inch of dish washing liquid, and one inch of ammonia. Fill the rest of the container with water. Shake well. Use your microwave to heat up solution slightly or put in an old pot (you don’t use for food) and simmer on stove top. Place jewelry (silver or gold) into solution and let sit for about ten minutes. Remove from solution and rinse with water. That’s it.

Both these cleaner work well. For silver, I prefer the first recipe since it uses ingredients most people have around the house, and it’s not as toxic as the second recipe so it’s safer if you have children or animals around your house. The Super Cleaner can also be used for cleaning your jewelry projects in between buffing compounds so your polishing wheels don’t get contaminated or caked up.

How is the Retail Jewelry business doing in Michigan?

Posted on September 23rd, 2009 by admin

I use to live in michigan 18 years ago. We moved to california and now that I have children we are thinking to move back to Michigan. Yes I know Michigan isn’t what it use to be but it is a better place to raise a family then California.
I own a Retail Jewelry store in California. Does anyone know how the jewelry stores are doing in Michigan? Especially with gold prices so high. Is the slow economy effecting jewelry sales?
Should I look for another business? Any suggesstions? Thanks.

the slow economy here is affecting everything; restaurants, stores, housing, activities. i wouldn’t suggest coming here to start a business especially in retail. i guess if you went to one of the wealthier suburbs you could possibly make it work but it is a very risky time to start a business here!
