How much is a troy once of 14k gold worth?

I have about 40 grams of 14k gold. I am assuming that is about 1.3 troy ounces if I am understanding the calculation correctly. I was offered $730 for the 40g or 1.3 troy onces coming out to $560 a troy once. Is that fair?
You can look up the spot price of 24K anytime:

Prices can change rapidly, though, so check before you buy or sell.
Since your gold is 14K multiply the weight by 14/24, so 40/31 X 14/24 = 0.7526 troy ounces of 24K gold in your 40 grams of 14K gold.
Spot price is somewhere near $1200US as I write this, so spot value would be roughly $900.
You can expect to sell at a discount, the purchaser should be allowed to make a profit. Only you can decide if 18% is too much.

Currently 14 KT is" worth" about 22 dollars a gram. That is a full value market price. $20 would be a very good price to get. Most dealers will not offer more than $18, so the offer is pretty fair if you need the money. I would say keep it if you can as it is going to be worth a lot more before Obama is done.
